Political analyst and filmmaker, Sukant Chandan says NATO and the American empire are after toppling the Syrian regime. He says their next goals are Lebanon's Hezbollah and Iran.

SYRIA- In an apparent show of solidarity with the Syrian government, Russia docked a large naval flotilla led by an aircraft carrier in the Syrian port of Tarotus on Sunday, despite mounting western criticism of Damascus's continuing crackdown on anti-regime protesters.

'Since the destabilization of Syria began roughly nine months ago, western media coverage has emphasized only the "peaceful" protests against President Bashar al-Assad, and those who have fallen victim of his regime.

The sources of these assertions are either anonymous or tied to US and British money. There has been very little mention of the violence being carried out by opposition forces like the Free Syrian Army in Syria. Pro-Assad demonstrations have also been ignored.

In November, Abdulhakim Belhadj, the former leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group who helped overthrow Muammar Gaddafi, met in Turkey with Free Syrian Army leaders to send Libyan fighters to train troops.
