This was just one of the many lies that our 'leaders' and their media sycophants used to legitimize the NATO-GCC 'humanitarian' assault on Libya. Please watch, share and remember.

"We receive evidence of NTC attacks against Red Cross personnel trying to get medical supplies into Sirte. Preventing access for aid is a war crime by the NTC and by NATO for strafing the positions of the authorities.
We receive evidence that NATO was using helicopters to fire missiles into Sirte, despite the fact that its mission was to impose a no-fly zone. Gaddafi was right: the UNO panders to the whims of the FUKUS-Axis (France, UK, US and Israel)and does not use the same weight and measure when dealing with smaller nations."
Libya: NATO's worst crime
Lies, deceit, blackmail, bullying, murder, torture, concentration camps, destruction of property, looting, massacres… all these words pale into insignificance when we look at what NATO has done in Libya – and intends to do to…
Reports have been made available exposing the role of NATO’s in Libya.
The importance of these publications is particularly pronounced when examining the Western government’s rhetoric of democracy, human rights, and freedom.
Is it perhaps time we begin recognizing the objective facts and evidence that tell a story vastly differing from those who are attempting to write our generation’s world history on their terms, on their words, and exclusive perspective.
The aim here is to provide alternative perspectives on foreign policies often dictated by Western governments and carried out by institutions such as NATO, and to create a context in which the underlying assumptions of the role of these institutions and governments can be questioned and their mandates measured against the findings posted below.
With so many reports on civilian deaths abroad, deaths of human beings just like us, why have there been no measures of investigation on these human rights violations? How can we dismiss these reports having experienced throughout this last decades that war on terror or oppression are often tactics proven to further the neoliberal imperialist agenda of our own governments?
If one life is as valuable as the rest at home or abroad, do we not owe it to ourselves to take the time to examine the actions taken by our governments in our interests, our security? As people abroad are killed in the name of freedom and democracy on our tax dollars, should we not question how our silence and apathy are often the most dangerous weapons of mass destruction abroad?

The myth of ‘African mercenaries’ in Libya has been used throughout the conflict to demonise the Libyan state, justify NATO intervention and to cover up the relentless racist rebel campaign of mass detention, lynchings and atrocities directed at black Libyans and migrant workers. Amnesty International have stated several times that the accusation of ‘African mercenaries’ being used in Libya against rebel forces is baseless. Despite no evidence the lie persists in the western media and the phrase ‘alleged mercenary’ has been continually used in an attempt to give context to the racist atrocities committed by rebel forces against black Libyans and migrant workers.
NATO in August openly admitted to the use of mercenaries in the war against Libya. However the hypocrisy of the western media should be noted when they refer to NATO mercenaries as ‘private security’.

The website Algeria ISP reports (citing unnamed “Arab” sources) Dec. 11 that the US and France have jointly established a secret drone base in the Libyan desert, near the area of Katroune. Craft from the secret base are allegedly flying missions to Niger, Mali and Mauritania, with the ostensible mission of seeking out Saharan arms trafficking networks to al-Qeada in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). Algeria has reportedly refused to allow the drones to fly through its territory.
On Dec. 3, the UN Security Council unanimously voted up a resolution drafted by the US and UK that extends the mandate of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) until March 16, 2012. UNSMIL was established by the Security Council on Sept. 17 with an initial period of three months with a mandate to help restore public security and initiate political and economic recovery in Libya.’
